Unfortunately, I have no money to donate to the effort, but I do have some time. Anyone need my time?

Also, my anti-spam word was "masterminds," that's got to count for something, right?

antispam = fate (bonus points for irony if nothing else).

I'm also sorry to hear the RPGBN leadership are stepping down to pursue other projects. Wish them the very best of luck because they've given us quite a headstart.

I'm not sure I understand why it would need to be any more complicated than Google Reader and an expanded Blogroll on Blogger. There's no real reason to be using Wordpress for what is essentially just a blogroll.

I'm hoping that the mass exodus of the board is not a result of the criticism, but rather something that the board members had been considering. The time commitment to maintain and manage RPGBN must be significant, and I realize no one wants to be shackled to something, and then verbally abused despite all the behind-the-scenes work.

I'd be happy to pitch in financially, if such a thing would be helpful. Are there any systems in place to receive, and or encourage donations to the network at large?

Hmm, I don't really have the time to contribute in any sustainable way to the running of the RPGBN. However, I can act as the Stargazer's election campaign manager, if you'd like. :P

I'd be willing to pay a small membership due for the network... if I was a member. But having the sponsorship of 6d6Fireball would be cool too.

@Chris: I think it would be great if you could sponsor the network. What you want in exchange is reasonable and you seem to have the required technical skills to keep the site running. And having a sponsor is much better than relying on donations or even member fees *shudder*.

Dave has just released some stats that give a good clue about traffic levels. They are perfectly reasonable and no problem for any host. The only issue will be being able to run the required software as many hosts do not allow much freedom in this area.

6d6Fireball (my own company) has spare server capacity and has offered to sponsor (i.e. host) the network to overcome the technical issues.

All the members need to do is work out what they want the network to be and how to run it.
